For the coming season we decided to have a rethink on our ski clothing range, our 2 main suppliers (5 seasons and Ice Peak) are once again onboard with us, so no change there. We know that both these brands offer excellent value for money and their products are technically very good too.

The hire clothing department is where we have had a major rethink. At the end of last season our existing hire clothing needed to be topped up with some new stock. But there was a growing problem for us. Over the last few seasons our hire gear was being "hired" less and less. I think this is for a few reasons. One, was that "ski clothing " suddenly appeared in many more shops on the High Street, even the big supermarkets seem to sell a small range.  Prices were reasonable even if the actual quality was low, many parents chose not to hire in anything like the numbers in previous seasons and as numbers fell it had become uneconomic to store clothing all year. Two, lots of the hire clothing was coming back badly damaged, some of the people hiring the equipment were not taking care of the items and were abusing our fair use policy. Not everybody of course but a growing number of kids and parents who couldn't give tuppance once they had their use of the items. We even struggle to get the stuff back sometimes. We work very hard to supply good clothing to students for their holidays and it was very upsetting to find that some individuals treated us this way, usually no apologies either from the said parent or student, which is typical of  a minority in society today. As for paying to have the item repaired or in the case of the item being destroyed, replaced, forget it. This request was usually met with a brief load of abuse on the phone.

So the upshot is our hire dept is no more, we are selling off our existing old hire clothing. I would like to thank the many nice parents and students who have used our services over the last 7 years. Its a pity there were not more people like you guys, So if you need some used kit, get in whilst stocks last.

The gear is top quality, its Waterproof, yet breathable. The jacket has a proper detachable hood, taped seams and is windproof, yet is extremely light as it has a very technical hi spec interlining/padding.

The ski trousers are made from the same fabric, so no wet bums if you spend most of the time falling over!

Do not confuse proper ski gear with the majority of cheap rubbish "ski gear" sold by chain stores.  99% of chain store gear is not suitable for bad weather in the mountains. It may look okay but will let you down when you need it most!
